2016-ambassador-michaela-bakerHello, my name is Michaela Baker and I am proud to represent our city as the Columbus Ambassador for the 2016-2017 school year. During my past four years at Columbus High School, I have been involved in sports and clubs that have developed me into an ambitious leader and an enlightened student. Basketball, soccer, cross country, and volleyball are important to me because they fit my love of being active and they develop the teamwork and communication skills necessary for everyday life. School clubs are important to me as well because of the service we provide for others, the friendships we make, and the leadership we gain. As Vice President of Spanish Club, Secretary of National Honor Society and through my involvement in Student Council, La Voce, Cardinal Companions, Project Unify, and Interact Club I enjoy promoting student involvement, fundraising for different causes, and working together to accomplish tasks. Aside from sports and clubs in school, I am passionate about music and traveling. My newly found favorite word is “fernweh”. This German word translates to the craving for travel. I love to take opportunities that allow me to experience and interact with people of diversity, new cultural ways of life, and the learning of another language. I also really love to sing in choirs inside and outside of school. Through Wisconsin Ambassadors of music, I learned that music, through our voices or instruments, connects everyone together through the rhythms and emotions of the pieces.

The Chamber meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at The Workshop – 128 W James St – from 8:30am-9:30am. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
